Bunny Number Fun

I found these cute little bunny clips in the dollar store and could not resist. I have used something similar to decorate loot bags in the past. The little clip is not terribly strong but holds up to a single child using them. Taking the bunnies off the card involves lots of lovely fine motor control.

I set out the bunnies and the numbers 1-10 from our pocket chart to let Daisy explore.

She lined the numbers up in order and placed a bunny on top of each number card. I challenged her to use the clip on the back of the bunny and then to use the numbers.

She got the idea and started matching bunnies to numbers.

She has been talking about adding numbers so it seemed the perfect opportunity to do a little bunny addition.

I was doing laundry at the time and called out “1 bunny add 2 bunnies and what do you get?”

“3 bunnies add 3 bunnies and what do you get?”

“Can you show me the number of bunnies you get when you add 3 and 3 bunnies?”

These cute bunnies will be used for decoration for Easter and then go into hibernation (in the Easter box until next Easter (yes, bunnies hibernate in our house!)

Do you have any other ideas on how to use these cute bunny clips?
